  1. Don’t worry, they’ll think of something else. People in positions of power will do anything or say anything to keep that position. Lies are the cornerstone of political campaigns. Team Doherty used to do it, now Team Walsifer is doing it. Just try to wade thru the muck and vote for honesty.

  2. #1 of course it’s Joe McEvoy—- that guy is Gerry’s biggest fan and also who we have to keep in mind will be influencing the next administration

  3. Walsifer and Buccafusco are just the latest two guys who will give you misgovernment. Neither one of them is an experienced man and doesn’t know what good governance is. Don’t vote in this dumb “election.”

  4. #4 please take a moment and look up the words: Fact, Transparent, Nothing, Day, and One.
Then look up the words: Further, From, and Truth.

    Thank you.

  5. Wow. 9 you sound angry. You must have not gotten your Covid relief check or your student loan forgiveness check yet!

  6. #4 the fact is that Mr. Walsifer stood on my front lawn while he was campaigning and told me that four stories is too big for the Bank of America redevelopment. And that he wouldn’t support anything that big.

Then he changed the zoning rules for that lot so they would be allowed to build that big.

Then he put the first aid squad out of business because they asked for an additional $40k to operate. Then tried to take the building, but insisted it was NOT so they could regionalize the first aid squad to serve other towns. Now we have a squad that serves manasquan and sea girt, and we have spent just a little bit over the $40k that was too much (about 2 MILLION so far by my estimate).

Saying one thing and doing another is not what I would call transparent.

  7. Get rid of BA Kirschenbum! He is the cancer in this town. If the mayor was smart he would get rid of that clown! His ego is too big for this town

  8. I attempted to post about what I heard spoken but I was told my post would cause a problem and it was censored from the Blog.

    Just an FYI.

I think the only problem was I do not agree or support Gerry and therefore I was unable to post my statement.

  9. Agreed #12. He will be the downfall. Along with the hiring of Huisman to DPW and of course boatgate involving all of them. Allowing Campbell to “retire” and sit home for six months collecting full salary. All the illicit things Xxxxxxxxx pulls in the Marina. Walsifer is a good guy but surrounds himself with clowns that will bring him down.

  10. #10 oh I get it. I didn’t realize you a) easily confuse national politics with local politics (hint: Walsifer isn’t going to take away abortion rights) and b) you don’t realize the Covid relief payments went to restaurants and other industries hurt by lockdown (neither of which I am) and started under the last president, who, although a democrat for his entire adult life, ran as a Republican.

I promise to only use small words from now on. My apologies.
Oops! Just one last word to look up: projection.

  11. #13 the only reason a post is not posted on this blog is if there are unverifiable accusations. Period. The admin has been very up front about that on several occasions. This blog has always been, and continues to be, a right leaning platform. If the admin can’t verify the ‘information’(what you describe is called hearsay), then it doesn’t get posted. Please stop with the paranoid nonsense.

  12. #12 speaking of the marina and ‘boatgate’ (is that what we are calling it?)

Did anyone see that they are using the money raised for the lake como outfall project to deal with storm water and flooding to make electrical upgrades to the marina? I posted in the other thread that I thought the marina should be mostly self sufficient. Slip fees should cover improvements.

  13. #18 I agree, on top of his none stop negativity it very rarely made sense and if you check a bunch of his research it is in context. So I’m glad he and his clipboard speeches have been left home recently.

  14. #19 Agreed. Why on earth would they use money from a project (in a different town) to upgrade the electrical system at the Marina? Why do they charge slip fees and launch fees? I think the Marina is great for the town, but surely the folks with the expensive boats can pay to fix the lights instead of passing the hat around.

  15. #18- “Anonymous” LOL

You’ll be disappointed to know that I’ll be back at the next meeting to speak now that my mother died last week and I spent most of the summer watching her die. You probably thought it was the bullying and intimidation that silenced me? Wrong answer as usual!

To the rest. If you’d like to discuss anything without what you claim is “censorship”, please join us in the “Belmar/Lake Como/West Belmar Residents” Facebook Group. Here we allow anyone to speak freely on any local subject they’d like. Just be advised, you won’t be able to do it anonymously and will have to answer to over 2,000 fellow informed residents for your lack of perspective and personal attacks.

Too late! He was warned about Kirschenbaum for years and the mayor isn’t smart. That’s why he didn’t even know what the speed limit on Main Street was when asked about it at a recent meeting. Imagine that? A cop in town for years and then a politician whose supporters claim he’s up and down Main Street constantly?
He claimed he didn’t even know there weren’t any lights on The Flags at Memorial Row after the veterans and firefighters told his Business Administrator for months and it’s directly across from a building he owns?!?
Kirschenbaum has run amok because the mayor is ********! They both will be gone soon!

  17. #6

I was also Mayor Walsifer’s biggest fan when he ran against Magovern so when I tell you I’ll be holding Jerry Buccafusco to the same standards of conduct when he gets elected, you better f@&king believe it Mr. Anonymous.
The two-party system is an absolute failure in this country and in this town. In fact, now the local press is controlled by a political machine. We’re a microcosm of the quagmire that’s going on nationally.
I’m an equal opportunity hater. I hate both parties and all politicians, but if Jerry and others get in there and “lead” for the residents, instead of “politic” for the developers and cronies that would be great. I’ll be influencing them to do exactly that, and if they don’t like that influence, you better believe they’ll hear about it here as well.

  18. #23. Sorry to hear about your mother, Joe. But I’m glad your back. I don’t understand why you wouldn’t be considered to manage the beachfront. You seem to have a lot of experience up there and your fiscal responsibility would benefit that large income generator.

  19. #24

    Thank you so much!
Working in that capacity doesn’t appeal to me at all, and I hear the current manager is doing a fine job actually. Also, I would never even be considered as I simply don’t have the temperament to manage civilians after leading warriors for so many years in the military. The biggest reason however is that the Democrats don’t like me either, and the only reason they’d offer me a job is to silence me and that ain’t happenin’. 😉
I’m old enough where I can afford to do what I love and young enough that I still can. I’m currently writing a book and starting my own very lucrative business by this spring that involves helping people, and I am truly looking forward to that and being my own boss and setting my own goals and hours. I also volunteer with Team Rubicon which is a world-class Veteran rich NGO and am currently training for a position on one of their special mission teams that react overnight to disasters worldwide which is more my speed for at least a few more years. I don’t want to push a pencil and manage government employees on any level any longer, and deal with the public and the politicians in charge. No way!
I really don’t have experience with fiscal issues either as you say, but I am sure when elected Jerry Buccafusco will find folks that do. It’s a priority of his. I’m hoping and praying that he leaves folks doing well in their positions regardless of their relationship to the current administration, and he doesn’t owe me or anyone any favors so the changes he makes will be professional and not personal.
I also hope he decides to pay the Boro workers more, while eliminating some of the overpaid managers high salaries and free perks. It would attract better folks and reattract volunteerism as well when people once again realize the local government serves them and not the other way around.

Voting for all this expansion of positions and pay for higher ups in a conservative administration, is like watching people put shackles on themselves. Jerry is running as a Democrat, but is running on low development and fiscal restraint in most areas, while adding to services for the residents such as the Belmar Recreation budget that has been hacked by over 25%. He’s great with the numbers and even Mr. Dilberger applauded him for that in a council meeting this past Spring which says a lot. 😉
Most importantly, he’s smart and experienced, he’s humble and not vindictive, and is retired so he’ll act more than just a figurehead as our current mayor does. Don’t let Jerry’s North Jersey accent fool you. He won’t let Jersey City politics into Belmar or cronyism remain in The Borough.
You’ll certainly hear a lot less of, “I wasn’t aware of that”, and, “we’ll look into it”, at meetings.
We’ll certainly hold him to being proactive and not reactive as the current mayor is, and I’ll certainly continue to help lead the charge on that as I’ll continue to be outspoken if things aren’t done right. Maybe Jim Bean can run for council again next year and get back in there and make a difference in an administration that won’t ‘throttle’ his ability to lead?

  20. Welcome back Joe. Sorry to hear about your mother.
You will always be attacked by folks that worship at the alter of political loyalty. Jim Bean just got a dose of that as well. He committed the unforgivable crime of calling out those responsible for negligence at the senior housing building. Some of whom happened to be republicans. The blind party loyalists do not like that.

  21. Welcome back, Joe. Warriors have guts and you are eloquent, to boot! I sense a fine base of ethics and lots of heart, as well. May your mother rest in peace. “Bonne chance” in your endeavors.

  22. Yes, and I heard a certain “boro official” showed up on the scene and was interfering and trying to influence certain decisions.
