The beginning of this article has excellent descriptions of how mining the ocean floor works. And in the article, about the CEO of the company “He has just flown in from London for a big mining conference. For years, he’s been traveling the world to talk up deep-sea mining to investors and government officials”. Imagine his carbon footprint.
And telling everyone else what not to eat,
while they fly into Dubai by private jet.
The US should get the hell out of the UN.
None of this means we shouldn’t curb our reliance on industrial farms or reduce the amount of pollution and waste we produce.
It just means that most government officials, whether they call for reduced green house gasses or pretend to deny the existence of climate change, are, for the most part, hypocrites. Not exactly earth shattering. They’re politicians after all.
This should not be a partisan issue. Scratch that, it IS NOT a partisan issue. Every one of us every day should be living our lives with less waste and a conscious effort to reduce our personal impact on the planet. Period. Any resistance to that is just selfishness.
