Let’s make Belmar Freehold.
Patronage jobs. Robert S. Cosgrove is Freehold borough municipal prosecutor. Public defender, Ray Raya a Freehold based law firm.
Belmar borough administrator / Mayor of Freehold taking care of his boys.
I’m not familiar with Cosgrove, but I know Ray Raya extremely well. He worked for my law firm for several years after he graduated law school, and then left to practice criminal defense law. He is among this area’s most effective municipal court defense lawyers, and has far and away the best “bedside manner” with his municipal court clients of any lawyer I know. Belmar is extremely fortunate to have him.
Wasn’t the former prosecutor with the Borough for a few years? Why the change? Oh wait…..to get your own cronies in who are on the same political page as the inept Mayor and even more inept BA……Inept being the keyword since he apparently needs an deputy BA….this administration is pathetic
Interesting, was the female prosecutor that’s been there for years not doing a good job?
Is Judge Lavender ok with the change? (Sentence deleted by Editor.)
From what I heard she was very good at her job and the only people who were ok with the change were the Mayor and BA…..two people who really have nothing to do with the workings of the Court
As someone involved with the court system, I can attest that she was more than capable but understands the political volitivity of her position. Nonetheless, it’s interesting that the public defender and prosecutor were changed but not the judge. Experience in these positions is a positive in terms of the town’s bottom line.

Is anyone going to ask about the new prosecutor?

I wonder if “female” was the issue. I certainly hope not! Not a very good look for the mayor or Mr. Kane.
Maybe the job made the female woman uncomfortable.
You are the only one who makes them uncomfortable because of your contempt for women.
